
In Ziridis Primary School we strive for educating the child through a holistic approach that meets the needs of every pupil. To accomplish this fundamental goal:
- We foster a curriculum to boost academic excellence and critical thinking, by using learning tools for deeper understanding such as concept maps, V diagrams, text mapping techniques and rubrics for self- and peer assessment.
- We pursue a bilingual program in Science, Mathematics and Literature (Cambridge Curriculum affiliate).
- We identify and promote pupil’s special gifts and talents across disciplines and we offer the opportunities to participate in a range of national and international competitions. in STEM (Science – Technology – Mathematics)
- We implement an ICT updated curriculum using 1:1 iPads and interactive boards in order to motivate pupils to develop their creativity.
- We prepare our pupils to develop essential life skills, such as, leadership, open-mindness, conflict resolution and organizing skills, presentation skills.
- We implement an enriched interdisciplinary curriculum by guiding pupils to make connections within or across disciplines, times, cultures or places, or in some combination of these elements.
- We have as a basis hands-on experiential learning and outdoor learning which helps pupils to visualize and capture intangible and complex scientific concepts.
- We enhance pupils’ social-emotional development.
- We use tailor-made classroom activities according to pupils' needs, interests, and strengths adopting the multiple Intelligences theory
- We foster a personalized curriculum by using Portfolios for each pupil. Therefore, each pupil produces his/her own personal pathway of learning and shares his/her accomplishments with peers and teacher.
